Dwelling

Your silence
moves around
the contours of my 
speech.
 
My words, the terrible rock.
Your silence the chisel
and mallet.
 
The alphabet has gathered
in the city square.
Dots in the center
of a blank space.
 
Only in my dwelling
do I exist.
