What We Lost

I am not even interested,
in all the battles,
that you keep ruminating
upon hard metallic battle grounds.

I am tired of that song,
you keep playing about
men who died stupid deaths
trying to find tails lost by their ancestors.

Get me the rose,
and teach me how to weep,
for I have forgotten,
that art my ancestors had mastered.

Let me wallow in the warm
sunshine of the hundred suns
that fill the matchboxes
inside the million windows of a skyline.
